Gamblin Stand Linseed Oil is a thickened, polymerised linseed oil designed for traditional oil painting techniques. With a consistency similar to honey, it increases the flow and gloss of oil colours while helping to smooth out visible brushstrokes. Paint mixed with Stand Oil dries to a smooth, glossy, enamel-like finish.
Compared with regular refined linseed oil, Stand Oil has a much higher viscosity and produces a slower-drying paint mixture, giving artists more working time. It is particularly useful for glazing, fine brushwork and achieving smooth, even paint surfaces. Use it sparingly, or mix it with an equal amount of Gamsol to create a traditional, slow-drying, high-viscosity painting medium.
