Caran d’Ache Neocolor II Water Soluble Pastel Dark Green 229 is a versatile water soluble pastel for drawing, botanical studies, landscapes, illustration and mixed media artwork. The Dark Green shade provides a deeper green tone for foliage, shadows, vegetation and layered colour work.

Use Neocolor II directly as a dry pastel for expressive marks, colouring, shading and layering, or activate it with water to create fluid washes and watercolour-style effects. It can also be blended with lighter greens and other Neocolor II colours to build tonal depth and natural colour transitions.

Made by Caran d’Ache in Switzerland, Neocolor II combines dry pastel handling with the flexibility of a water-soluble medium.

Dark Green 229 adds depth to green-based palettes and is useful for foliage, vegetation, landscapes, botanical studies and darker areas of nature illustrations. It can be layered with lighter greens to create contrast and tonal variation.

Use it dry for defined marks, shading and texture, or add water to turn the colour into a fluid wash. This makes it useful for both detailed drawing and softer painterly techniques.
